Long time no post

Well as you all can see my star destroyer project is proceeding like a bulk cruiser according to Han Solo. ie not very fast at all. So anyway I thought I'd pop in and say a few lines. I have been sidetracked recently with playing/learning the piano. It's been a lot of fun actually, a lot more fun than this die-hard woodwind player ever thought it would be. Not quite as easy as the guitar, but in many ways it has advantages over the guitar, too. I've also been busy helping Deni with school by doing stuff around the house. She made the dean's list woo hoo!!!!!!!! And she was asked by her biology prof. to be a T.A. for the summer semester! Excellent. I am sooooo proud of her! and tomorrow she is going to actually teach a class in place of her prof.
So to keep this related to a star destroyer, I am going to put up a motivational poster of a star destroyer. From icanhasforce.com.

Philology blog

So I am gathering unto me requirements for degrees from the University of Utah, so I can finally finish off my formal university education lo these long years since it first began (21). Secondaryily to Rubinga's degree which is fine, but in the mean time I am studying for the required classes.
Check it before I wreck it: Major in Comparitive Literature and Cultural Studies, emphasis on Language and Literature, Major in Classical Civilization with emphasis on Latin, and a minor in English.
I would be basically a classicist, like C.S. Lewis, more than a philologist, like J.R.R. Tolkien (the two were great friends), since to study philology at the U. is to study linguistics. But I do love to study word origins. They fall together in my head the way numbers fall together for my accountant mother. So would I, the philologist, stand a better chance at the Krell brain-booster, than my wife, the future Doctor? Please watch the movie Forbidden Planet for an explanation of the last sentence.

The Emperor is most displeased

. . . with my apparent lack of progress. I seem to be generating followers left and right, if not official, which is fine by me.
So next week I promise to have something posted that actually relates to a Star Destroyer project.

Non Star Destroyer Projects

Posting something so I can reward my numerous followers (2 is a numer). I know other peeps check in though so more than 2 is a bigger numer than 2. ANYWAY . . . .
no star destroyer work lately, but thanks to my recent time off (thanks, economy) I have been hard at work on some other model projects I have stashed away. Namely some World War II fighter planes. Mostly finished years ago, they were shelved for some reason or another. Anyway now they are getting close to being presentable, so as soon as they are done I will get some pics up, should be in the next couple of weeks or so.

Up and running

Well I wanted to zazz up the page a little bit, get everyone excited for My Star Destroyer Project, so I added a picture, and a playlist of music from the Star Wars movies. A couple of cues are actually relevant to the project in question.

My Star Destoyer Project

Hi Scott here, with my very own Star Destroyer project. The title is a reference to a website that has inspried me to document my own attempt at recreating a model of an Imperial star destroyer, specifically the one seen in what is now known as Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Used to be just Star Wars. I might also include some stuff on the Republic star destoyer, from Revenge of the Sith, and also the Tantive IV, which is the ship the star destroyer pursues and overtakes in the opening moments of Star Wars.
Wish me luck!
